Description
Ten notes in consecutive (sequential) serial order from the Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan. The front shows two Bja Tshering, the mythical birds of long life, flanking the Dharma wheel. The back shows Taktsang, the Tiger's Nest monastery clinging to the cliffs above the Paro valley. Series 2015, signed by Governor Daw Tenzin (2010–2015), printed by Giesecke & Devrient. About 125 x 60 mm.
Historical Context
Bhutan is one of the few countries with no formal diplomatic relations with the United States; contact runs through the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi. These notes belong to the current 2006–present series.
