Historical Context
Issued at the height of Bolivia's mid-1980s hyperinflation, when the peso fell to about 2.2 million per US dollar. The back honors the Agrarian Reform decree of 2 August 1953, which abolished forced peasant labor and redistributed estates. In the 1987 reform, notes of this type were overprinted as 10 centavos of the new boliviano.
Condition
[Est. XF] No hard folds, with light rippling and a faint crease in the top margin on the back. The front is bright; the back is lightly toned with a little soil at the top edge. Corners are sharp and the edges clean. No tears, holes or writing. Grade estimated from the scans; not professionally graded.
Legal Tender
No longer legal tender: demonetized on 31 December 1987.
