Historical Context
The 2000 was Paraguay's first polymer note, introduced in December 2009 to replace the worn 1000 note. Adela (1865-1902) and Celsa (1868-1918) Speratti were pioneering teachers who ran Paraguay's first graded girls' school from 1890.
Condition
[Est. UNC] Polymer note with no creases or ink wear seen, sharp corners and a clear, unclouded window. No marks or tape. Grade estimated from the scans; not professionally graded.
Legal Tender
Still legal tender: current notes keep full value and will circulate alongside the new family the Central Bank presented in October 2026 until full replacement, expected around 2028-2029.
